Amelia Anderson: Development & Marketing Manager

Please join the DAWS Leadership Team in welcoming Amelia Anderson to the Development & Marketing Department!

Amelia Anderson, SHRM-CP, is a dynamic professional with expertise in communication studies and a passion for nonprofit leadership and digital marketing. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from the University of Northern Colorado and is pursuing her master’s degree from the same institution. Her extensive knowledge and enthusiasm are reflected in every project she undertakes.

Her career highlights include roles such as Marketing and Development Director at Housatonic Habitat for Humanity and Director of Communications and Membership at The Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce. Amelia is known for her friendly demeanor and strategic vision and is committed to making a positive impact wherever she goes.

Amelia is thrilled to be joining the DAWS team as the Development and Marketing Manager to support philanthropy, marketing, and community outreach initiatives. With great experience in special events, particularly in golf tournaments, she is eager to get started with planning Putt Fore Paws and the Making a Difference Gala!

In 2016, she made the transition from Breckenridge, Colorado, to Danbury, where she seamlessly integrated into the community. During her time out west, she dedicated herself to community engagement, particularly with the local animal shelter in Summit County, where she and her husband joyfully welcomed two furry companions into their home.

Upon settling in Danbury, she redirected her focus toward economic development, joining the Chamber of Commerce team. Here, she diligently cultivated both her personal and professional networks, deeply embedding herself within the community fabric.

Outside of her professional endeavors, Amelia and her husband wholeheartedly embrace the vibrant lifestyle offered by greater Danbury. They eagerly explore the eclectic offerings of the East Coast, championing local eateries and businesses, while actively participating in community events.

Nestled near Candlewood Lake, they relish the serenity of kayaking and boating amidst the breathtaking scenery throughout the spring, summer, and fall seasons. Their love for the outdoors extends beyond Danbury, often venturing into nearby NYC for Broadway shows and Manhattan explorations, where they eagerly reunite with friends and family.
